Our NEW 3x7 Skip-Planed Reclaimed Wood Fireplace Mantel Shelves can be used above a fireplace as a mantel or as stand alone floating shelf. Each piece is unique and variations will apply. Each and every piece is taken from barns dating from the late 1700's through the early 1900's. Some have original hand hewing, circle saw markings, worm holes, knots, nail holes and other markings. These are designed to utilize bracket mounting hardware that is included with the piece. Each piece is routed out in the back so the bracket plates are embedded into the wood and the piece fits flush against the wall. The holes for the brackets are NOT pre-drilled since they need to be anchored into your studs or other fixed surface so you will need to measure where your studs are and have the holes drilled appropriately.
Our NEW Skip-Planed 3x7 Reclaimed Barn Wood Rustic Floating Fireplace Mantel Shelf is one of the best universal sizes we carry. Make this reclaimed skip planed mantel a focal point of your living room or great room. Each and every shelf is unique with many grain variations, knots, worm holes, nail holes, etc. The floating shelf comes with a hidden hanger and each piece is routed out precisely to properly fit the mounting hardware which IS INCLUDED. You will simply need to drill out holes in the back of the product. The holes should correspond with the bracket location on the walls. They require a 1/2" drill bit.
Images shown are a representation of the piece you will receive - Keep in mind, these are authentic reclaimed pieces of wood here, no two are the same! For example, we have many pine pieces that look brown when oiled. We also have many that will be more red when oiled. Yellow pine tends to end up more red and white pine more brown, but that isnt always the case. Other factors to consider are the age of the piece, the environment in which it spent its life, and the overall condition.
