Reclaimed Industrial Oak Engineered Flooring
Reclaimed Industrial Oak Engineered Flooring
Our reclaimed engineered tongue and groove flooring comes from 100% reclaimed Oak out of Michelin tire distribution warehouses. Each engineered plank is 5/8-inch thick with a 4mm wear layer (a real reclaimed wood “top layer” with plywood) underneath.
We believe that the key to preserving the future is reclaiming the past. That’s why we are excited to source and restore premier oak from old factories and warehouses. Oak is one of the most durable and long-lasting woods available, making it an ideal material for creating reclaimed floors and wallboards that will stand the test of time.
In addition to its natural strength and beauty, this oak also has a unique history. All the planks in our Industrial Oak line were reclaimed from Michelin’s antique tire factories and warehouses, giving them a story that adds unique character and charm. We believe that by reclaiming this beautiful wood, we are not only creating stunning floors and wallboards but also preserving a part of America’s industrial history.

1968: Tire Storage Origins
An overview of Michelin North America’s warehouses in Elkton, Maryland; Laurens, South Carolina; and Houston, Texas, reveals the origins of this hardwood. After being used for tire storage in distribution centers for decades, this oak has been revitalized and given a new purpose.
Reclaimed engineered flooring is composed of multiple sheets (called “plies”) of thin wood pieced together to create a single plank. The 4mm top layer, known as the wear layer, is real reclaimed wood. The bottom section is made of multiple plies.
The layers that make up engineered floors plies are arranged in opposite directions, known as “cross-ply” construction. This also helps guard the reclaimed engineered flooring boards against any potential moisture issues.
The reclaimed engineered flooring will be 4 3/4" wide and vary 2-6 ft in length. Less-than-truckload (LTL) freight is REQUIRED for all orders. Please keep this in mind when making your purchase so you order enough for your project the first time.
We highly recommend ordering for AT LEAST 10% more flooring area than you need to account for cutoffs and waste.
Order processing will depend on the size of the order. Please contact customer service for specific lead times based on order size.
Flooring orders are not eligible for return, all flooring sales are final.
These flooring boards can be installed by nail, staple, or glue attachment.

Modern Timber Craft is not responsible for reclaimed engineered flooring installation. Sub floor preparation is extremely important as boards are not sanded flat.
