Wood Origin
These reclaimed wood floating shelves are sourced from beams salvaged from historic barns throughout the Eastern United States dating from the 1700's to the early 1900's. Popular locations include Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Ohio and Kentucky.
Reclaimed Wood Floating Shelf with Hidden Bracket
Bring authentic character, history, and natural warmth into your home with a reclaimed wood floating shelf handcrafted from authentic reclaimed wood. With a generous 10" depth, this shelf provides additional surface area for larger displays, décor, storage, and everyday use while maintaining the clean appearance of a floating shelf.
Each shelf is individually selected and reworked to preserve the unique characteristics that make authentic reclaimed wood unlike newly manufactured or artificially distressed lumber.
Our reclaimed wood comes from generations past and is repurposed for a new life in your home. Natural characteristics such as saw marks, knots, nail holes, checking, weathering, color variation, mortise pockets, and other evidence of the wood's previous life may be present. These characteristics developed naturally over time and are an important part of what makes authentic reclaimed wood unique.
No two reclaimed wood floating shelves are exactly alike. Product photos represent the overall style and character you can expect, but the grain, coloration, texture, markings, distressing, and historical characteristics of your individual shelf will naturally vary.
What's Included?
- (1) Reclaimed Wood Floating Shelf — 2" H x 10" D x your choice of width
- (1) Heavy-Duty Steel Floating Shelf Bracket — Made in Pennsylvania
- Shelf routed to completely conceal the mounting hardware
- Mounting holes pre-drilled for easier installation
Easy Hidden-Bracket Installation
Each floating wood shelf is professionally routed so the heavy-duty steel mounting bracket is concealed inside the shelf once installed, creating a clean floating appearance without visible shelf supports.
Simply mount the included steel bracket level and securely into two wall studs, then slide the reclaimed wood shelf onto the hardware. The concealed mounting system provides a professional finished appearance while allowing the character of the reclaimed wood to remain the focal point.
A Deeper 10" Shelf for More Display & Storage Space
The 10" depth provides additional usable surface area for applications where a deeper floating shelf is preferred. It offers more room for larger décor and everyday items while retaining the clean, open appearance of wall-mounted floating shelving.
Use your 10" deep reclaimed wood floating shelf for books, larger plants, framed photographs, kitchenware, serving pieces, collectibles, bathroom storage, office accessories, or substantial decorative displays.
For spaces where less projection from the wall is preferred, explore our 6" deep reclaimed wood floating shelves or our versatile 8" deep reclaimed wood floating shelves.
Authentic Reclaimed Wood Color & Character
The appearance of authentic reclaimed wood is influenced by its species, age, previous environment, exposure, original use, and overall condition. These factors create natural variations in grain, coloration, texture, and character from one piece to another.
Applying oil, stain, lacquer, or another finish can also dramatically change the appearance of reclaimed wood and reveal colors and grain patterns that may not be obvious in its unfinished state.
For example, some reclaimed pine may develop rich brown tones when oiled, while other pieces reveal warmer red or amber coloring. Reclaimed yellow pine often develops reddish or golden tones, while reclaimed white pine frequently takes on warmer brown shades. These are natural tendencies rather than guarantees.
These variations are not defects. They are part of the history and character of authentic reclaimed wood and are what make every shelf unique.
Weight Capacity
When properly installed into wall studs using the included heavy-duty floating bracket, approximate weight capacities are:
- 24" shelves: 30–45 lbs
- 30"–42" shelves: 40–50 lbs
- 48"–66" shelves: 50–75 lbs
- 72"–84" shelves: 75–90 lbs
Actual capacity may vary depending on wall construction, stud condition, installation method, shelf dimensions, and how weight is distributed across the shelf.
A Piece of History Repurposed for Your Home
Authentic reclaimed wood carries character that cannot simply be manufactured into new lumber. The saw marks, grain patterns, weathering, imperfections, and other characteristics found in each shelf are evidence of the material's previous life.
The deeper 10" profile combines that history and character with substantial usable surface area and a concealed mounting system for a clean, finished appearance.
These pieces are reclaimed from generations past and repurposed for your future.
