I am thrilled with my wood shelf! I used it to replace a thin and plain mantel and I love how it turned out. It is nice and thick and rustic and a bit rough. There are a few holes here and there adding great character. The stain color is perfect for my room (Early American). Knowing the history of the wood is super interesting and, as it turned out, this piece came from just a few hours from where I live. I am very happy with the finished look.
